Mobile passport station to Adelaide and Melbourne

Earlier this year, the Embassy of Finland used the mobile passport station for the first time in Australia and New Zealand.  The process went smoothly, which is why we will continue to issue passports outside of Canberra.

Applying for a passport with the mobile passport station is similar to the process of applying for a passport at our Embassy. However, the customer must pay for their passport via bank transfer before their appointment in an issuing location. Under no circumstances are we able to receive cash payments. We check your citizenship status beforehand and print the applications. This requires a lot of prior work from the Embassy – please book your appointments early enough.

This year you can book appointments to:

Adelaide (10 people)

When: Monday 29th of May, from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Where: Honorary Consulate of Finland,

120 Molesworth Street, North Adelaide

Melbourne (50 people)

When:  16th and 17th of August

Where: to be confirmed

To book an appointment please email us at consular.can@formin.fi. Please remember to attach your phone number and a photo of your ID to the email. We can book appointments for 10 people in Adelaide and for 50 people in Melbourne. Appointments can only be booked via our Embassy email address. We cannot take into account appointments booked any other way.

The Embassy would also like to remind everyone that the requirement from the Finnish Foreign Ministry is that the use of mobile passport stations cannot create more travel expenses for the Embassy. This means that services are limited and staff members may not be able to issue passports every year even in the biggest cities.

It has already been confirmed that the mobile passport mission to Perth will not be possible in 2017. Furthermore, mobile passport missions must be held more than 600 km from Canberra. For example, for those in Sydney, you would still have to travel to Canberra.
