The Embassy of Finland in Canberra is now an accredited Actsmart business. The Actsmart Business Recycling Program aims to have businesses actively recycling and environmentally responsible to reduce the corporate impact on the environment.
In the past six months, the Embassy of Finland has succeeded in cutting down on waste to landfill by 33% (half a tonne), which is the equivalent of half a tonne less of CO2 emissions every year. Staff members have wholeheartedly participated in the training provided by Actsmart and are actively involved in efficient recycling and waste management process. The Embassy of Finland hopes to further reduce its impact on the environment by continuing with efficient recycling practices, and also through a reduction of its energy and water consumption.
In following this sustainability culture, the event, the Finland Centenary Crazy Games and Open Doors for Everything Finnish will be recycling only. You can find out more about this open day event at the Embassy at the following website: www.finnishcrazygames.com.
Many thanks to the Embassy of Estonia in Canberra for their participation in the program, which means that both Embassies located at 12 Darwin Avenue are accredited Actsmart businesses. To a greener future!
