
The Embassy of Finland is the representative of Finland in Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. The main objectives of the Embassy are to:
The work of the Political and Commercial section traditionally forms the basis of the Embassy's work. It involves negotiating, analysing and reporting on political and economic developments in Australia, building up a network of contacts, taking care of practical arrangements for state and ministerial visits etc.
The Embassy administers a small Local Cooperation Fund. The objective of the Fund is to complement other Finnish development efforts in the region in furtherance of poverty alleviation and economically, socially and environmentally sustainable development while strengthening the local civil society in particular.
In addition to the Embassy of Finland in Canberra and the Consulate in Sydney, Finland has Honorary Consuls based in 7 other cities in Australia and 4 Honorary Consuls in New Zealand.
